Tiburon police responded to 824 calls for service in September 2026, making seven arrests and recording zero thefts from vehicles, according to the department’s monthly statistics posted Oct. 16.

The department also reported two arrests on suspicion of driving under the influence. Officers conducted 156 traffic stops and investigated three traffic collisions during the month. The department filed 42 reports.

The statistics offer a category-by-category snapshot but do not break down what types of calls made up the 824 total or where in town the activity was concentrated.

How September compares to July

The department’s July 2026 statistics show officers handled 851 calls for service that month, slightly more than September’s 824. July saw five arrests, compared with seven in September. DUI arrests fell from four in July to two in September.

Traffic collisions held steady at three in both months. Thefts from vehicles were zero in both periods.

One metric shifted between the two reports. The July release tracked “traffic citations” at 30, while the September release tracked “traffic stops” at 156. The two categories measure different things, so a direct comparison is not possible from the published data.

What the numbers don’t show

These two statistical summaries do not include response times, staffing levels or the types of incidents behind the call totals. They also do not provide year-over-year comparisons.

Police Chief Michelle Jean leads the department, which publishes the statistics through the Town of Tiburon’s website.
