Five free Sunday concerts will close out the Corte Madera Community Foundation's summer music series in August, giving Southern Marin families a reason to spread a blanket at Town Park every weekend through the end of the month.
The volunteer-run nonprofit posted its full August schedule on its website, listing acts each Sunday from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at Corte Madera Town Park, 498 Tamalpais Dr. All shows are free.
Here's the lineup:
- Sunday, Aug. 2 — Jon Chi and the Pacific Syndicate (Americana/Psychedelic Soul)
- Sunday, Aug. 9 — Kanekoa (Uke-Powered Hawaiian Jam-Rock)
- Sunday, Aug. 16 — Walking Mirrors (Rock 'n' Roll)
- Sunday, Aug. 23 — Jackie Greene (Americana/Roots)
- Sunday, Aug. 30 — Danny Click and the Hell Yeahs (Americana/Rock)
Jon Chi, a Marin County-based songwriter, guitarist and producer, has had songs featured on NPR's "All Things Considered" and in documentaries and commercials. Kanekoa, a Maui-based band built around the electrified Hawaiian ukulele, has won the Nā Hōkū Hanohano Award, Hawaii's equivalent of the Grammy. Grateful Dead drummer Bill Kreutzmann has called them "The Hawaiian Grateful Dead," as cited on Visit Marin's event listing.
Walking Mirrors formed in 2019 when singer-songwriter Mark Nelson teamed up with guitarist and producer Craig Bartock of Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees Heart. Jackie Greene, an Americana singer-songwriter, served as lead guitarist for The Black Crowes in 2013.
The series moved to Town Park while Menke Park undergoes renovation; the foundation's website still lists Town Park for all August dates. The Corte Madera Community Foundation, established in 1994, said on its website that the 2026 lineup is "officially full" and that it "received many more applications than we had spots for." Attendees are encouraged to bring a blanket or lawn chair.
