Families hunting for back-to-school clothes can shop a one-day pop-up from children's brand Hanna Andersson at the Mill Valley Lumber Yard on Saturday, Aug. 15, from noon to 5 p.m.

The Portland, Oregon-based company, which operates exclusively online, will set up at 129 Miller Ave. with a selection from its fall collection. Prices start at $20, and every purchase comes with a free customizable tote bag. Sizes run from newborn to 12, with some styles available in larger youth sizes. The brand's signature matching pajamas and coordinating family styles for babies, children and adults will also be on hand.

Hanna Andersson personal shoppers will be on-site to help families browse and order additional items from the full online catalog. The event will also feature kid-friendly activities and brand installations, according to Enjoy Mill Valley, which first reported the pop-up.

Chief brand officer Grace Wong described Hanna Andersson as a brand "founded on the belief that childhood should be lived out loud in bold prints, happy colors and clothes that feel as good as they look." That hand-me-down ethos has made Hanna Andersson what the company calls the No. 1 resold premium children's brand, and its website offers a marketplace where families can buy and sell used items.

Swedish-born Gun Denhart founded the company in 1983, naming it after her grandmother. Now owned by private equity firm L Catterton and led by CEO Aimée Lapic since 2022, the brand has roughly 400 employees and ships to nearly 200 countries. Over 60% of its products carry OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certification, and many items use organic cotton. The pop-up format gives an online-only retailer a rare chance to put fabric in shoppers' hands.

The event is a notable booking for the Lumber Yard, a restored 19th-century complex dating to 1892 that already houses national names like Aviator Nation and DSW alongside local tenants such as Flour Craft Bakery and Watershed Restaurant. It is the only standalone branded event on the venue's 2026 calendar outside its monthly Maker's Markets. The next Maker's Market is Saturday, Sept. 12.

No reservation is required. Families can walk in anytime during the noon-to-5 p.m. window.
