Maria Muldaur, six decades into a performing career, will bring her Jazzabelle Quintet to the Lark Theater in Larkspur on Saturday, July 25, for a benefit concert raising money for kids' performing-arts programs in Marin County.

The show, titled "Blues & All That Jazz," starts at 7:30 p.m. General admission is $55; VIP seating is $65, each plus a $2.25 online ticketing fee. Tickets are available through the Lark Theater at 549 Magnolia Ave.

All proceeds go to Marin Jazz's "Future Stars" after-school programs, which operate at four elementary schools in San Rafael and Novato, according to the nonprofit's website. Marin Jazz CEO Todd Ghanizadeh produces the concert series in partnership with the Lark, and Education Director Sonia Perozzi leads the youth theater programs. The organization says it provides scholarships and "never turns a kid down."

Muldaur's setlist will draw from her 2025 album One Hour Mama: The Blues of Victoria Spivey, which earned a Grammy nomination for Best Traditional Blues Album at the February 2026 ceremony. (Buddy Guy won the category.) It was Muldaur's seventh Grammy nomination overall.

The album pays tribute to Victoria Spivey, a contemporary of Bessie Smith who mentored Muldaur when she was starting out in New York City's folk scene in the early 1960s. "She took me under her wing and gave me a lot of pointers on how to perform and how to sing the blues," Muldaur told the Pacific Sun.

Expect "Midnight at the Oasis," her 1974 hit, along with "Don't You Feel My Leg," a 1940s New Orleans blues number that Dr. John introduced to her, and "Loan Me Your Husband." Muldaur described the material as playful and tongue-in-cheek, rooted in early blues women who sang about love and desire with sly humor rather than solemnity.

Her quintet features pianist John R. Burr, bassist Ruth Davies, guitarist Danny Caron, Kristin Strom on saxophone, flute and clarinet, and drummer Ronnie Smith. Caron's credits include work with Bonnie Raitt, John Lee Hooker and Van Morrison.

In a January 2026 interview with Grateful Web, Muldaur joked about her Grammy track record: "I'm kind of the Susan Lucci of the blues." Retirement holds no appeal. "I love to do it," she said in the Pacific Sun profile published Monday, July 21.
