Mill Valley's 12U Majors All-Stars are headed to the NorCal State Tournament in Chico after rolling through Section 1 play undefeated, capping the run with an 8-2 championship win over Davis National on July 21 at Mt. Diablo High School in Concord.

Cooper Maddex set the tone on the mound and at the plate. As the starter, he went four innings, allowing two runs on three hits while striking out three. At the plate, he finished 3-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored.

Mill Valley jumped on Davis National early, plating four runs in the top of the first inning. Maddex, Paxton King, Wyatt Droege, and Jack Devlin all crossed the plate before Davis National recorded its third out.

Devlin doubled to lead off the fourth and scored on a base hit by Tate Shackleton, who later came around to push the lead to 6-2. In the fifth, Jonas Jackson doubled and scored on a single from Lucas Parrett. Parrett then scored on a Maddex single to make it 8-2.

Devlin finished 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs. Shackleton went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs.

Parrett locked the door in relief, throwing two no-hit innings to close the game. The final out came on a groundball to Tyler Feduska at third base.

Laszlo Winn added a double and Cal Boehle contributed a hit. Feduska and Cody Chittenden were steady presences in the infield throughout the tournament run.

The championship capped a dominant Section 1 stretch. Across four games, Mill Valley defeated Martinez, Napa, Petaluma National, and Davis National, outscoring opponents 29-6. The semifinal win over Napa on Sunday, July 19, was a 5-2 affair powered by Charlie McIntosh's two-run triple and three straight RBI singles from Devlin, Droege, and Shackleton in the fourth inning.

The NorCal State Tournament is scheduled to begin Sunday, July 26, at Chico Eastside Little League, 328 Southgate Ave., Chico.
