Mill Valley's 12U Majors All-Stars saw their NorCal Little League State Tournament run end Tuesday, July 28, falling 9-4 to the Chico Eastside All-Stars in a consolation-bracket semifinal in Chico.

The loss capped a tournament stretch that began with Mill Valley winning the Section 1 pennant undefeated and ended two wins short of a championship game berth.

Mill Valley jumped out to a 3-0 lead through three innings Tuesday. Paxton King lined an RBI single in the first, and Cooper Maddex crushed a two-run homer to center in the third. But Chico Eastside erupted for five runs in the top of the fourth to seize control and never looked back.

Starter Lucas Parrett gave up three runs on five hits across 3⅓ innings with one strikeout and no walks before exiting. Tate Shackleton and Calvin Boehle each collected two hits in the loss, according to the Marin IJ.

On Monday, July 27, Mill Valley had kept its season alive with an 8-6 comeback win over Los Gatos. The Majors scored five runs in the top of the first but watched Los Gatos storm back to take a 6-5 lead by the second inning.

Relief pitchers Shackleton and Tyler Feduska shut the door over the final 4⅔ innings. Shackleton struck out five in 2⅔ innings, allowing three hits and one earned run. Feduska closed with two scoreless innings, surrendering just one hit.

Mill Valley's decisive rally came in the fourth. After Feduska was hit by a pitch, Laszlo Winn and Maddex ripped back-to-back singles to load the bases. King was plunked to force in the tying run, Wyatt Droege took another hit-by-pitch to plate the go-ahead run, and Boehle singled home an insurance run for the 8-6 final. King and Boehle each drove in two runs in the win, Enjoy Mill Valley reported.

Mill Valley entered the state tournament as the fifth seed after sweeping through Section 1 play in Concord, outscoring Martinez, Napa, Petaluma National, and Davis National by a combined 29-6. Maddex pitched four innings and went 3-for-3 in the Tuesday, July 21 section championship, an 8-2 win over Davis National at Mt. Diablo High School. Parrett threw two no-hit relief innings to close out that game.

The Majors dropped their NorCal opener against top-seeded El Dorado Hills and fought through the consolation bracket before the July 28 elimination. The NorCal champion advances to the West Region Tournament in San Bernardino and, from there, to the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
