The O'Hanlon Center for the Arts wraps up its summer season with a Sunday Salon on Aug. 23, offering Mill Valley residents an evening of live performance for $15 at the nonprofit's Throckmorton Avenue campus, according to a listing on the Mill Valley Chamber's community calendar.

Doors open at 4:30 p.m. and the show begins at 5 p.m. at 616 Throckmorton Ave., about a mile from downtown Mill Valley.

Executive director Erma Murphy described the event as a celebration of summer in a June 23 update on the center's website, calling it the season's wrap-up. Specific performers for the Aug. 23 show have not been announced publicly; the center can be reached at (415) 388-4331 or ohanloncenter.org for lineup details.

The Sunday Salon series is a regular fixture at the center, which posts recordings of past performances on its Vimeo page. The venue sits on a two-acre former dairy farm that sculptor Richard O'Hanlon and painter Ann O'Hanlon converted into studio space beginning in 1942; it took its current name in 2004 as programming expanded into literary, performing and healing arts. Several of Dick O'Hanlon's sculptures remain on the grounds.

Visitors arriving early can browse two gallery exhibitions on view through August. The main gallery features "In the Abstract," an abstract art show juried by Robert Green, open through Aug. 27. The Loft Gallery shows "From the Archives: Ann O'Hanlon Shifting Perceptions." Gallery admission is free. Hours run Tuesday through Saturday, 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

The center encourages carpooling, walking or biking for larger events. One accessible parking space is available at the top of the driveway near the Loft building.
