Sustainable fashion brand Reformation opened its newest store at The Village at Corte Madera on Tuesday, Aug. 18, adding a climate-focused retailer to the Macerich-operated shopping center's growing roster of new tenants.
The Los Angeles-based label, founded in 2009 as a vintage clothing shop, announced in April 2026 that it achieved its Climate Positive goal, according to the company's timeline. That means Reformation now removes more carbon from the atmosphere than it emits, making it one of the first fashion brands to hit that benchmark using science-based targets.
The brand's next target: making everything it produces part of a circular fashion system by 2030, aiming for close to zero virgin materials and fully recyclable products, according to the mall's event listing for the opening.
Reformation operates a factory and distribution center in Vernon, California, which it upgraded to a larger facility in September 2025. The company also works with partner factories worldwide. The Corte Madera location marks continued expansion after Reformation opened its 50th store in Vancouver in April 2025 and a Paris flagship in October 2025.
The brand's physical stores use a concept called Retail X, launched in December 2017. Shoppers request items via touchscreen monitors, and selections arrive in "magic wardrobes" inside fitting rooms with customizable lighting and phone chargers.
It's a format built to mirror online shopping.
Reformation joins a wave of new tenants at The Village in 2026. Jewelry brand Mejuri and shapewear company SKIMS both opened in Center Court in late April, and the mall's event page promotes Reformation's arrival with the brand's signature sustainability pitch, comparing its environmental impact favorably to wearing nothing at all.
