A band featuring members of Heart, Boston and Joe Satriani's touring group will play a free show at Corte Madera's Town Park on Sunday, Aug. 16, kicking off the final stretch of the 2026 Summer Concert Series.
Walking Mirrors takes the stage at 5 p.m. at 498 Tamalpais Drive. The rock outfit, formed in 2019 by singer-songwriter Mark Nelson and guitarist Craig Bartock, who spent 20 years as lead guitarist and producer for Rock and Roll Hall of Fame band Heart, has sold out Sweetwater Music Hall, Hopmonk Novato and Rancho Nicasio. The lineup also includes David Sikes, former bassist and vocalist for Boston; Jeff Campitelli, longtime drummer for Joe Satriani; and Aidan Nelson, a Berklee College of Music graduate and Marin native.
The band has raised more than $300,000 for local nonprofits through ticket proceeds and sponsorships, according to its website, with beneficiaries including the Corte Madera Summer Concert Series itself, Sweetwater Music Hall and Bridge the Gap CollegePrep. State Assemblyman Damon Connolly, who attended a sold-out Walking Mirrors show at Hopmonk Novato, called it a "great show and great cause."
The Corte Madera Community Foundation, founded in 1994, organizes the series. The nonprofit said on its website that performances have moved to Town Park this year while Menke Park is under renovation.
No tickets or reservations are needed. Concertgoers can bring lawn chairs, blankets and a picnic.
Two more free Sunday shows follow at Town Park, both starting at 5 p.m.:
- Aug. 23: Jackie Greene (Americana/roots), a California singer-songwriter who played lead guitar for The Black Crowes and has toured with Phil Lesh, B.B. King and Gov't Mule.
- Aug. 30: Danny Click and the Hell Yeahs (Americana/rock), whose single "Wait My Turn" hit No. 1 on Nashville's Indie World Country Chart.
All three concerts run from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at Town Park.
