Mill Valley's Majors All-Stars are District 3 champions after beating Twin Cities 7-3 on Sunday, July 12, at Joe Wagner Field in Larkspur, punching their ticket to the Section 1 Tournament in Concord.

The win came one day after Twin Cities rallied for four runs in the sixth inning on Saturday, July 11, to stun Mill Valley 5-4 and force a winner-take-all finale. Mill Valley had entered that game undefeated in the double-elimination bracket.

The team regrouped. Mill Valley won convincingly Sunday, 7-3, to claim the District 3 crown last held by the Mill Valley Little League organization in 2024, according to the Marin Independent Journal..

Manager Ben Chittenden, who has coached this core group for four years since they first played together as 9-10-year-old All-Stars, said the bond between his players runs deep.

"This is a tight group, they have each other's backs," Chittenden told the Marin IJ. "They never get on each other if somebody makes an error. They pick each other up. It's been a joy to be coaching them for four years, and it's something that I'll never forget."

Saturday's loss featured fireworks on both sides. Cooper Maddex launched a leadoff home run in the first inning and finished 2-for-2 with two runs and two RBIs. Paxton King crushed a two-run shot in the third that sailed 200 feet over the left-field fence. Starter Charlie McIntosh threw 5 1/3 innings, striking out six and allowing just one run on five hits before Twin Cities broke through late.

Twin Cities had clawed its way through the losers' bracket after falling 2-1 to Mill Valley in the semifinals, then eliminating Tiburon before forcing Saturday's rematch. Manager Andy Revell tipped his cap to Mill Valley's talent after his team's comeback win.

"You've got to give it to Mill Valley, they're an incredible team, a lot of great kids, great coaching staff," Revell told the Marin IJ. "For us, our mentality has been the whole tournament, 'Why not us?'"

Max Reale and Curran Schlagenhauf hit back-to-back singles to load the bases in Saturday's decisive sixth inning. Cameron Costa followed with a two-run hit, and Owen Cordasco capped the rally with a two-run double.

None of it mattered Sunday. Mill Valley's bats answered, and the league posted a "2026 12U District 3 Champions" banner on its website by evening.

The Section 1 Tournament begins Friday, July 17, hosted by District 4 Little League at Mt. Diablo High School in Concord. The winner advances along the path toward the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
